Encrypt some made up variable following the exact procedure you used for the <em>access_token</em> and print it to the console, just to be sure that they encryption is working as expected.</p></div>Owen McDonnelltag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/462801112018-10-18T16:12:36Z2018-10-18T16:12:37ZProblem pushing to github<div><p>You were right!<br>
AppVeyor failed to recognise access token only. Username and email were correctly recognised.</p></div>doublebeep7tag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/462801112018-10-18T18:38:34Z2018-10-18T18:38:34ZProblem pushing to github<div><p>Can you please clarify "AppVeyor failed to recognise access token only"? Does this men that when you printed decoded value, it was wrong or empty?</p></div>Ilya Finkelshteyntag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/462801112018-10-18T19:12:31Z2018-10-18T19:12:32ZProblem pushing to github<div><p>Ilya,<br>
When Owen asked me to encrypt variables I encrypted my access token, my email and my username. From these three only access token was recognised incorrectly.</p></div>doublebeep7tag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/462801112018-10-18T19:17:02Z2018-10-18T19:17:02ZProblem pushing to github<div><p>What exact steps did you do to encrypt the token and how do you know it was recognized incorrectly?</p></div>Ilya Finkelshteyntag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/462801112018-10-19T04:04:30Z2018-10-19T04:04:32ZProblem pushing to github<div><p>In github settings, developer settings, access tokens, I generated a new token with full access to the repository. Then I went to settings, encrypt YAML and pasted username email and access token separately. The encryption value was pasted to environment:<br>
variable: secure:</p>
<p>Then, I printed with echo the access_token, user_email and username variables with cmd and access token that appveyor gave was e* while my access token was d*. I then pasted the value without encryption and printed with ps. Ps printed the correct access token, but build failed because of authentication.<br>
What should I do?</p></div>doublebeep7tag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/462801112018-10-19T04:52:24Z2018-10-19T04:52:24ZProblem pushing to github<div><p>Are you doing encryption while being logged to <code>double-beep</code> or <code>helper-beep</code> account? If second it will not work as each account has its own encryption key and value encrypted with one account cannot be used with other account build. You can switch accounts in the left upper corner of the screen, near AppVeyor logo.</p></div>Ilya Finkelshteyntag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/462801112018-10-19T11:41:59Z2018-10-19T11:41:59ZProblem pushing to github<div><p>Of course as <code>double-beep</code> I am logging in, not by pressing <code>Github</code> button, but with my appveyor account. I do not think that this makes the difference.<br>
Anyway, in my last build I did not encrypted the token generated, but the build failed because of authentication.</p></div>doublebeep7tag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/462801112018-10-19T16:04:48Z2018-10-19T16:04:48ZProblem pushing to github<div><p>I believe this has nothing to do with AppVeyor encryption (if it was failing at such a basic level we would be seeing many more issues) and is more likely caused by some other variable that you have input incorrectly (for example, your password is input as <strong><a href="mailto:double-beep7@gmail.com">double-beep7@gmail.com</a></strong> but in AppVeyor your email in <strong><a href="mailto:doublebeep7@gmail.com">doublebeep7@gmail.com</a></strong>).</p></div>Owen McDonnelltag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/462801112018-10-19T16:27:54Z2018-10-19T16:27:54ZProblem pushing to github<div><p>But what should I do?</p></div>doublebeep7tag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/462801112018-10-19T17:22:58Z2018-10-19T17:22:58ZProblem pushing to github<div><p>What is the email you use for your github account?</p></div>Owen McDonnelltag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/462801112018-10-19T17:37:27Z2018-10-20T12:27:08ZProblem pushing to github<div><p><a href="mailto:doublebeep7@gmail.com">doublebeep7@gmail.com</a></p></div>doublebeep7tag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/462801112018-10-19T22:34:07Z2018-10-19T22:34:07ZProblem pushing to github<div><p>Ok, so use that instead of <a href="mailto:double-beep7@gmail.com">double-beep7@gmail.com</a></p></div>Owen McDonnelltag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/462801112018-10-20T03:48:32Z2018-10-20T12:25:07ZProblem pushing to github<div><p>~nothing here~</p></div>doublebeep7tag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/462801112018-10-20T06:33:08Z2018-10-20T12:24:21ZProblem pushing to github<div><p>E-mail and access token fixed, but AppVeyor failed to push:<br>
