appveyor_repo_tag is not set at all on Ubuntu1804 image

I'm running a dual-image build using this simple appveyor.yml.

The Windows build properly detects pushed tags using appveyor_repo_tag and uploads the release to Github. The Ubuntu1804 build does not seem to have the environment variable set at all:

"GitHub" deployment has been skipped as environment variable has not matched ("appveyor_repo_tag" is "", should be "true")
Build completed

Note that the value is an empty string (aka, it doesn't exist) rather than "false". Am I doing something wrong here?

I forgot to mention in the original post, but I can manually deploy the same build to GitHub, using the Appveyor website, just fine. The artifact exists and it finds the proper tagged release to upload to.

    Hi Evan,

Environment variable names are case-sensitive on Linux platform. Please use upper-case variable names exactly as in samples.

Feel free to re-open this ticket (by simple commenting to it) if this does not work fro you.

    Ilya.
