because of it:

https://ci.appveyor.com/project/dalcinl/mpi4py/build/2.0.0a0-7/job/...
My guess is the dated pip has problems understanding the package
version specification "2.0.0a0", that is the change that triggered
the failure.

After changing my build logic to include a pip upgrade, the
build succeeded:

https://ci.appveyor.com/project/dalcinl/mpi4py/build/2.0.0a0-8/job/...

I'll maintain the pip upgrade in my build, so this is no longer
an issue for me. However, I wanted to make you aware of the problem
in case you are interested in fixing it. If you check for the "pip
--version" output in my builds, the Python 2.7 ones are the only
outdated, Python 3.3 and 3.4 are OK (the Python 2.6 comes from my
own install, Python 2.6 is not pre-installed).

Lisandro Dalcintag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/369251102015-05-24T18:29:09Z2015-05-24T18:29:09ZOutdated pip in Python 2.7

OK, thanks for letting us know!

Feodor Fitsnertag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/369251102015-07-14T03:48:31Z2015-07-14T03:48:31ZOutdated pip in Python 2.7

pip has been updated on build worker images.

Feodor Fitsner
