I made a fork of this repo (https://github.com/mauvilsa/bump2version) but now the AppVeyor tests fail even for the exact same commit that was previously successful, see https://ci.appveyor.com/project/mauvilsa/bump2version/builds/24627479 .

The tests fail for all python versions except python 3.7. For some reason it fails importing the module being tested "ImportError: No module named 'bumpversion'". What could be the problem?

mauricio_villetag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/472744252019-05-20T17:18:44Z2019-05-20T17:18:44ZPython tests successful in Jan/2019 but same code and tests fail May/2019

Do you know for certain that the former version you linked to does not have some environment variables set in the UI for their project?

Owen McDonnelltag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/472744252019-05-21T18:32:29Z2019-05-21T18:32:32ZPython tests successful in Jan/2019 but same code and tests fail May/2019

Hi Owen. I don't know if in the UI of their project they have set environment variables. But shouldn't this be easy to see from the appveyor.yml file? I am new to AppVeyor so I can't be sure, but to me it seems this is not related to an environment variable (see https://github.com/c4urself/bump2version/blob/master/appveyor.yml).

mauricio_villetag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/472744252019-05-21T22:33:39Z2019-05-21T22:33:39ZPython tests successful in Jan/2019 but same code and tests fail May/2019

No, if they set variables in the UI they are merged with those in the appveyor.yml file.
Anyway, another likely difference here is that there have been a couple platform updates in the time between those builds, with python 3 being updated twice.

Are you able to ask the owner of that project to hit
RE-BUILD COMMIT
button on that build?

Owen McDonnell
