Now my build is failing, where it was working against the preview9 versions. For example

https://ci.appveyor.com/project/rockfordlhotka/csla/builds/27690230...

I've even added a step in appveyor.yml to install the dotnetcore-sdk explicitly.

The code, as you'd expect, "builds fine on my machine".

rockytag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/476635522019-09-26T21:58:37Z2019-09-26T21:58:37ZBuilds fail with .NET Core 3 dependencies

Please use the image called
Visual Studio 2019
, not
Visual Studio 2019 Preview
. Sorry for confusion.

Ilya Finkelshteyntag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/476635522019-09-26T22:16:52Z2019-09-26T22:16:52ZBuilds fail with .NET Core 3 dependencies

Thank you, that got things a lot closer to working again.

Though now there’s a new issue that also wasn’t there prior to the .NET Core 3 release.

https://ci.appveyor.com/project/rockfordlhotka/csla/builds/27701310...

I’m guessing this is due to a missing Android SDK on the build image? Is there a list of Android versions that are acceptable to target?

I didn’t think I’d changed the Android version in my project, and I didn’t – it is still Oreo 8.1 (sdk 27), which is what’s on the build image.

My project:

[cid:image002.png@01D57496.956C0B20]

Build agent/image:

[cid:image006.png@01D57496.956C0B20]

This project did build prior to this week, so I wonder what’s changed?

It seems like something that has occurred to people over several years. The common solutions revolve around fixing a registry key, reinstalling VS, or clearing some old content in the user's AppData folder.

rockytag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/476635522019-09-27T00:49:34Z2019-09-27T00:49:34ZBuilds fail with .NET Core 3 dependencies

You can log into build VM via RDP and see around what's going on: https://www.appveyor.com/docs/how-to/rdp-to-build-worker/

Try building from VS IDE, command-line, see what's installed. If you can tell us what's wrong/missing on the image that would be very helpful to us and other users.

Feodor Fitsnertag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/476635522019-09-30T23:56:23Z2019-09-30T23:56:23ZBuilds fail with .NET Core 3 dependencies

@rocky please watch https://github.com/appveyor/ci/issues/3112, we plan to do the change asap, hopefully in a week or two.

Ilya Finkelshteyn
