Could you please clarify why would you need VS 2017 on VS 2019 image? Why not just use
Visual Studio 2017
image instead?

Feodor Fitsnertag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/478070602019-11-06T09:06:43Z2019-11-06T09:06:46ZVisual studio 2017 compiler in Visual studio 2019 appveyor Image

Hi,

I will need to use linux container which I believe is available in Visual Studio 2019.

Sujata Patnaiktag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/478070602019-11-06T23:29:47Z2019-11-06T23:29:47ZVisual studio 2017 compiler in Visual studio 2019 appveyor Image

At the moment we are not planning to install VS 2017 to
Visual Studio 2019
image. Maybe you can build the app in a separate job running on VS 2017, push it to some container registry (if it's not public) and then test it in a separate job running on Ubuntu or VS 2019?

Feodor Fitsner
