<p>The current BYOC configuration only allows setting "cloud capacity" or queue size. The maximum number of running jobs is hardcoded to 5 [0]. It'd help if this could be limited to a lower number (even if max is still 5) per machine. Few advantages are:<br>
a) lower memory usage. Even if more jobs can share CPU resources, using more memory would result in thrashing and significantly reduced performance<br>
b) better control and isolation that would allow for performance testing<br>
c) ability to run on lower-end machines, that can support only 1-2 jobs.</p>
<p>some of the above can be probably achieved by a combination of lower capacity/cloud failover, but a more explicit processing width/queue depth setting would help.</p>
