Add the following to
appveyor.yml
to stop AppVeyor building on tags:

# Do not build on tags (GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab, Gitea)
skip_tags: true

Feodor Fitsnertag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/480741962020-02-10T09:55:49Z2020-02-10T09:55:50Zappveyor makes travis restart

Hi Feodor,

The problem that I'm saying is that Travis is creating AppVeyor builds and AppVeyor is creating Travis builds resulting in an infinity loop of both CI systems.

We need the tag builds because we do tag releases (0.1 and etc) besides our master/continuous build release binary.

https://travis-ci.org/bluerobotics/ping-viewer/builds

Patricktag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/480741962020-02-10T18:58:53Z2020-02-10T18:58:53Zappveyor makes travis restart

So, how are you planning to solve this problem ten without stop doing that (creating Travis build from AppVeyor and vice versa)? :) What is you goal there? I can help.

Feodor Fitsnertag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/480741962020-02-10T19:16:50Z2020-02-10T19:16:50Zappveyor makes travis restart

I'm not creating a travis build from appveyor on purpose.
My configuration files are explicit, and this build configuration was working for more than 1 year without problems.
Travis and appveyor only do deployments for two things, master branch (continuous builds) and normal tags (E.g: v2.0.0), Both travis and appveyor are not pushing code or changes in any branch or tag, only doing deployments, so it's not clear to me how an artifact upload is creating builds for appveyor and vice-versa.

Patricktag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/480741962020-02-10T19:22:32Z2020-02-10T19:22:32Zappveyor makes travis restart

OK. You create a new GitHub release here: https://github.com/bluerobotics/ping-viewer/blob/master/.appveyor.y... which essentially creates a new tag (if it doesn't exist) and creating a tag triggers a new build.

Adding
skip_tags: true
will fix the issue.

Feodor Fitsner
