Are you getting that error on
conda update -q conda
command, right? Are you getting this error on all AppVeyor images? Quick googling shows others have similar problems with either updating conda or installing certain packages: https://github.com/conda/conda/issues/9367

Feodor Fitsnertag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/480830772020-02-12T16:03:30Z2020-02-12T16:03:31Zconda env create failing on build, but working locally

Hi Feodor

I am getting it on
conda env create -f environment.yml
actually, and I have changed environment.yml, so in that sense it does make sense.

However it works perfectly locally, so I don't know how to debug it.

The
conda update -q conda
bit is just something I found from some googling, and makes sure that the conda version is the same on the build as I have locally.

I was using the default build image, but have moved to the Visual Studio 2019 one, which hasn't helped.

Cheers

I'm going to do a repro and try locally as well.

Feodor Fitsnertag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/480830772020-02-13T09:19:55Z2020-02-13T09:19:56Zconda env create failing on build, but working locally

Thanks feodor, that would be great, I've attached it.

ceddtag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/480830772020-02-13T18:14:32Z2020-02-13T18:14:32Zconda env create failing on build, but working locally

The problem seems to be with python 3.7, downgrading to 3.6 works ok

ceddtag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/480830772020-02-13T18:30:01Z2020-02-13T18:30:01Zconda env create failing on build, but working locally

Thanks for the update! Is it something we should fix on our side or it's Conda's issue?

Feodor Fitsnertag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/480830772020-02-14T14:16:33Z2020-02-14T14:16:37Zconda env create failing on build, but working locally

Well, it didn't work on AppVeyor, and it did work locally for 2 different people. And I tried some things to try and make it as comparable as possible.

So it is worth looking in to, but it depends on your priorities. Knowing how to debug situations like this would definitely be useful.

Cheers, Cedd

cedd
