I have a somewhat-complex appveyor.yml for building a Python project.

3 days ago, it was working as expected, expanding into a matrix of jobs and running my
build_script
(and assorted other scripts).

Today, without making any changes to
appveyor.yml
, I suddenly started getting the error message about MSBuild mode without a project file, and there was no matrix expansion.

I've tried various things in the UI (turning "Build: off", fetching a zip archive instead of directly from git and vice versa) and various tweaks to
appveyor.yml
(commenting out the vestigial
build:
section) but it seems my appveyor.yml is being completely ignored. Nothing I've been able to do gets the matrix to expand or my scripts to run.

My YAML validates structurally locally and I've checked over the YAML reference and don't see anything I've done wrong schema-wise. I haven't been able to find any information about changes that might have caused this either.

Does anyone have any ideas about what might be happening? Thank you for any help.

Jason Maddentag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/483760552020-06-03T10:29:18Z2020-06-03T10:29:20Zappveyor.yml suddenly not being read; no matrix expansion, "MSBuild" mode error back despite build_script setting

Poking around the UI, I found some additional things strange. For example, clicking <a href="/"https://developer.github.com/v3/"}"">New build" resulted in an error message about bad github credentials. But restarting older builds did not.

<a href="/"https://developer.github.com/v3/"}"">Eventually, I deleted the entire project and all its history, then re-created it. This time Appveyor wanted to install an "app" in GitHub, so I let it. It appears things began working after that.

<a href="/"https://developer.github.com/v3/"}"">Viewing the history of webhook deliveries, a call to the old webhook at 2020-06-01 17:03:32 failed with the error:
```json {D "message": "HTTP GET to https://api.github.com/repos/gevent/gevent/pulls/1635 returned status code 401: Unauthorized\nFull response body:\n{\"message\":\"Bad credentials\",\"documentation_url\; }
The previous call at 2020-06-01 16:18:05 was successful. I have no idea why that error message would have occurred, nor do I know how to fix it other than re-installing and re-authorizing AppVeyor.
But the build now seems to be running.
