Hi there,

I've tried many of the suggested resolutions to achieve successful c#6 compilations. I've completed the following steps, but msbuild is still running against VS 12. Our projects are using .net 4.5.2.

  • Visual Studio 14 is set correctly in sln file
Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File, Format Version 12.00
# Visual Studio 14
VisualStudioVersion = 14.0.23107.0
MinimumVisualStudioVersion = 10.0.40219.1
  • AppVeyor is building for Visual Studio 2015 (also tried 2015 CTP based on other tickets)

  • Path is set to build with 14.0

- set PATH=C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\14.0\Bin;%PATH%

    Hi David,

    Could you drop a build log please?

    Do you configure project on UI or in appveyor.yml? Have you chosen Visual Studio 2015 image?

    Right now we're using both, some settings in UI and appveyor.yml. VS 2015 is chosen as the image.

    version: 1.0.{build}
    - set PATH=C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\14.0\Bin;%PATH%
    - nuget restore Source\Sureshot.sln
      verbosity: normal
        - ExternalApi
    deploy: off

    Got it. Add this to appveyor.yml:

    os: Visual Studio 2015

    It's because if there is appveyor.yml UI settings are ignored.

    Ahh, thank you. This was the problem. The build is using VS 14.0 now.

      C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\14.0\bin\csc.exe
