Is is possible to log in to a github-linked account without logging in to github?

We created an appveyor account for the scikit-learn project using a github account.
Is it possible to log into this account without logging into the account on github?
I tried logging in with the registered mail and password, but that failed.
Is that expected behavior? Is there a way to enable logging in with email and password or do we have to create a new appveyor account?

    Yes, it's possible. If you are used to login with GitHub button then the password is just not set and you should use "Forgot password" link to reset it.
