Sometimes due to a higher than usual load server gets busy and I/O
becomes a bottle neck. Looks like SQL hits that bottleneck.

We have a new environment in place which is based on Google
Compute Engine. We are migrating OSS project to there and it's also
used as a reserve for paid accounts. VMs there are pretty fast (2
vcores, 7 GB of RAM and 150 GB SSD) and have consistent
performance. However, there is delay on build start between 1-2 min
required to provision build worker VM.

Would you like to be moved there and give it a try?

Feodor Fitsnertag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/384593652015-11-14T01:47:19Z2015-11-14T01:47:23ZBuild is stuck with message Starting SQL Server 2014 Express

Hi Feodor, thanks for support.

Yes, we would like to try. Is there a cost difference?

Nicktag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/384593652015-11-14T02:08:46Z2015-11-14T02:08:46ZBuild is stuck with message Starting SQL Server 2014 Express

No, there is no cost difference.

Before switching your account I have two questions:

Do you have any firewalls set on your environment that require
persistent well-known IP from build workers?

What's the largest artifact you upload during the build?

Do you have any firewalls set on your environment that require
persistent well-known IP from build workers? Yes, we do.
What's the largest artifact you upload during the build? My project
publishes 15mb.

By the way is it possible to test this switch only on a single
project first? Otherwise I will have to coordinate with other
project teams before trying to switch whole account.

Thank you.

Nicktag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/384593652015-11-16T18:07:37Z2015-11-16T18:07:37ZBuild is stuck with message Starting SQL Server 2014 Express

Hi Nick,

It's not possible to switch a project, but account only.

Create a new account (or you probably have a personal one) and
I'll switch it to that environment.

Feodor Fitsnertag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/384593652015-11-16T23:31:56Z2015-11-16T23:31:57ZBuild is stuck with message Starting SQL Server 2014 Express

Hi Feodor,

I have a few updates:
1) Our largest artifact is 800mb.
2)We would like to try to change account, but ideally we want to
rollback quickly if something goes wrong. May be forum is not the
best way to communicate on that, could you please share your
email/IM account?

Thank you

Nicktag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/384593652015-11-17T00:29:14Z2015-11-17T00:29:14ZBuild is stuck with message Starting SQL Server 2014 Express

Sounds good. Let me know when you are ready to switch.

This communication channel is quite good, but feel free to use
email (team@appveyor.com) or
Skype (feodor.fitsner).

Feodor Fitsnertag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/384593652015-11-30T16:18:07Z2015-11-30T16:18:10ZBuild is stuck with message Starting SQL Server 2014 Express

Thank you Feodor, now it is much better!

Nick
