Try checking Use alternative FTP library (beta) option on FTP provider settings to see if that helps.

What error do you get now? Have you tried enabling detailed debug messages?

    In transit right now
    But remember getting something like
Error connecting to server. By using beta the logs didn't even get to the point of getting zip file and start extraction

Using passive ftp. File was read. Extraction started and I got error while copying first file

Is there some other way to unzip it?
like put in after deploy scripts
something like 7z zip file name and extract it.
File is copied over FTP so not sure if that works.

is after deploy script running on the target server where code is copied?

I have 7z on the target server

So i want to try something like this pre deploy:
    rd /s /q *.*

    post deploy :
    c:\7z\7z x Acme.PhoneBook.Web.zip
    del Acme.PhoneBook.Web.zip

doesnt seem to be working. where exactly are pre and post deploy cmd file running?

    rd /s /q c:\inetpub\wwwroot\prod\

    post build :
    c:\7z\7z x c:\inetpub\wwwroot\test\Acme.PhoneBook.Web.zip -oc:\inetpub\wwwroot\test\
    c:\7z\7z x c:\inetpub\wwwroot\prod\Acme.PhoneBook.Web.zip -oc:\inetpub\wwwroot\prod\
    del c:\inetpub\wwwroot\test\Acme.PhoneBook.Web.zip
    del c:\inetpub\wwwroot\prod\Acme.PhoneBook.Web.zip

    but i get this error

    Time Elapsed 00:00:21.17
    Discovering tests...OK
    Uploading artifact Acme.PhoneBook.Web.zip (7.4 MB)...OK
    rd /s /q c:\inetpub\wwwroot\test\*.*

Those steps are run on build worker VM. Maybe you could try Agent deployment to see if it better works than FTP.
