Build failing - did appveyor change?

My build started failing 4 days ago, after a GitHub commit that changed an entirely unrelated file in the project.

In other words, the build was working great. It continues to build on all dev machines and our in-house build server. But appveyor now fails with a mysterious/nonsensical issue having nothing to do with any change to the project's files.

Given that the build works everywhere except Appveyor, I'm wondering if something changed on the build server/agent configuration recently that would cause this issue?

Yes, VS 2015 Update 1 was installed: http://www.appveyor.com/updates/2015/12/04

Looks like there the same issue: https://github.com/dotnet/roslyn/issues/7276

Suggested solution was upgrading Microsoft.CodeAnalysis.Analyzers to 1.1. Give it a try.
