Stopping deployment on script failure

We use appveyor to deploy our monitoring software and updated configs. This includes using a powershell script to download a new version of the monitoring agent before uninstalling the current version and reinstalling the new with the updated monitoring configs. This all works brilliantly but occasionally the download of the new agent can get cut off due to it taking too long. Is there a way to stop the deployment and have appveyor report a deployment failed status via something i can put in my powershell script?

many thanks,

You can just throw an exception in PowerShell script:

throw "Error trying to do a task"
