I am a contributor on a private GitHub repo of another user. When I try to create a new project in AppVeyor, I get the message:
> No Git or Mercurial repositories found.

I saw this exact problem in the forum and followed the solution directions; i.e.,
> Re-authorize GitHub for "private and public" repositories on https://ci.appveyor.com/account page.

I did so. According to my GitHub Application Profile for AppVeyor CI, it has private access permission.

This did not solve my problem. How to I add this project to AppVeyor? Thank you.

To check what GitHub API returns generate a new access token on this page with just repo scope: https://github.com/settings/tokens

Then using Fiddler, or Postman or curl call this API method:

    GET https://api.github.com/user/repos

    with headers:

    Authorization: token <generated-token>
    Accept: application/vnd.github.v3+json

Let me know what you get.

Ok-done. The json runs several hundred lines and I'd rather not list everything in this reply. The private repos are listed. What is of interest?

OK, can you drop me a screenshot of your https://ci.appveyor.com/account page?

You may also need to enable AppVeyor application for your organization(s). Go to "AppVeyor CI" application details on https://github.com/settings/applications page and enable it for your org(s).

Above doing the above, the private repos where listed. When I tried to add one as a new project, I received the SSH Key error. That problem was resolved by getting temp admin priviledges on the repo, which was the solution provided on this forum. Thank you.
