Hi,

After some mayor changes in my project, I decided to change the version number from 1.x.y to 2.0.1. However, the build failed with a "Build version 2.0.1 already exists". So, I increased the build number to 2 in order to get a version 2.0.2 but it failed again "Build version 2.0.2 already exists". Well, I increased the build number one more to 3 with no luck.

I am sure I have never run a 2.0.1/2/3.

Could you plese help me?

Thanks in advance.

Looking at project history there were 2.0.1, 2.0.2 and 2.0.3 builds created at May 29 and June 6 respectively ;)

Well, it seems to be my mistake and my memory because I tried with 2.0.4 and it past green.

    Thank you very much.

I'm getting the same error for .https://ci.appveyor.com/project/tugberkugurlu/kloggy

    "Build version 1.0.5 already exists."

changed the build version format as 0.0.1.{build} and it's now building with the build version of 0.0.1.5.

Is it possible that this could be a bug?

I can confirm that when there is an error during the build, the next build number is not incremented. Expected behavior?

You could just increment build number on General tab of project settings and leave original version format.

Yes I did that but is this the expected behavior?

    No, it's been sporadic glitch.

I started seeing this error after saving project settings during a build. I must have overwritten the next build number with an old value though it had been incremented elsewhere while I had the form open.

Open project settings and increment build number.

I constantly get this error for the project https://ci.appveyor.com/project/MikhailTymchukDX/appveyortest

I have 2 green builds (last green version is 1.0.2) and several red, starting with 1.0.3.
Every time I try to rebuild a project I get this error:

Build version 1.0.3 already exists. Update next build number or change version format.

Then I go to History tab, see last actual build, go to Settings -> General and manually increment this to last+1 value.
After that I can run build once, but second time I got the same error about 1.0.3 version and build counter resets to 3 again.

    Please fix it.

Although scheduled builds generate correct version, manual builds still stuck with 1.0.3 version.

But 1.0.3 build already exists in that project history. Are you changing "next build number" before starting a build or what do you mean by "manual builds"?

Yes, I change "Next build number" before starting a build, then click New Build or Re-Build commit button in UI, see new build number on a page, build log, and everything is OK.
But if I press New Build or Re-Build commit right after successful or failed build this error appears again.

Do you editing project settings in one browser tab and run build in another?

I have 2 tabs opened, one for test script editing and another for building and setting new build number.
I.e. I change test script, then switch to another tab, try to build, it fails, I go to settings, increment build number, click to Latest build and build again.

Do you mean that settings a written completely for all sections (not the active one) within single tab, and my old tab overwrites new tab values?

This is not what I expect from the UI.
Why changing Tests section affects General section?
    Will you fix that issue?

    Same issue here:
    """
Build version pythonocc-core-0.18.1 already existed and a random string was appended to its version to avoid collision. Update next build number or change version format.
    """
whether I manually change build number or not, I cannot trigger any new appveoyr build for my pythonocc project.

The error occured when I tagged the master branch to 0.18.1

Seems it was hard-coded and then it was fixed
