<p>I see 2 possible reasons this could happen:</p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>You selected <strong>Git</strong> repository type when created
new project, but you have to be more specific. Standard Git does
not support checking out of individual files. Please select GitHub
and Kiln respectively.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>You checked <strong>ignore <code>appveyor.yml</code></strong> in
Settings / General, but this is not very probable :)</p>
</li>

supply an appveyor.yml via http/s. Thanks to Ilya's pointer in
another support thread I found this issue regarding the new
