I'm trying to build a csproj-based project that require VS17. Any idea how to make this work on Appveyor?

I tried using GCE image - without success.

At root [good way to build]

dotnet restore
warn : The folder 'C:\projects\test-project' does not contain a project to restore.

dotnet build
Couldn't find 'project.json' in current directory

Trying with .sln file

dotnet restore test-project.sln
error: Invalid input 'test-project.sln'. The file type was not recognized.

dotnet build test-project.sln
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Command exited with code 1

Base appveyor.yml:

version: '1.0.{build}'
os: Visual Studio 2015

- "SET PATH=C:\Program Files\dotnet\bin;%PATH%"

only: - develop

patch: true file: '**\AssemblyInfo.*' assembly_version: '{version}' assembly_file_version: '{version}' assembly_informational_version: '{version}'

- nuget sources add -name "VNext" -source - nuget sources add -name "nugetv3" -source - dotnet restore - dotnet build

Thank you

I am hitting this same problem, and saw this on GitHub:

"This week we are releasing new image with VS 2017 RTM and Win2016 with docker combined. By default it will be available to everyone who already have access to current VS 2017 RC or Win2016 and to everyone who asked. After first iteration of patches we will make it GA."

What is the name of the combined image? I had Win2016 access so assume I will have access to the new image.

New image name is Visual Studio 2017. Please let us know if this helps. If not, it would be great to have a repro in public repository to investigate.
