appveyor.yml in Submodule not taken

i want to share my appveyor.yml across many repositiories. Therefore i choose to move the appveyor.yml file into a submodule which i want to add to the other repositiories. Unfortunately the appveyor.yml seems not to be taken, even if i overwrite the clone script with the --recursive flag.

Is there a workaround or any other solution for that?

Best regards,

YAML file is being read from repository on the central servers (but build VM) before build is scheduled and repository clone happens. Therefore this approach will not work. What you can do is to keep it in shared HTTP location. More details here.
