Unfortunately, "Microsoft (R) Build Engine version 12.0.31101.0" is
still running instead the last version.
I have tried "os: Visual Studio 2015" via config file and ui
settings.
Also the solution file begins with:

Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File, Format Version 12.00
# Visual Studio 14
VisualStudioVersion = 14.0.23107.0
MinimumVisualStudioVersion = 10.0.40219.1

Vladimir Gamaliantag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/375370652015-08-01T15:13:45Z2015-08-01T15:13:45Zswitch to Free (VS 2015)

Can I see a build log please?

SET PATH=C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\14.0\Bin;%PATH%
as described here: www.appveyor.com/updates.

I was also confused by this. I thought that selecting an the
"Visual Studio 2015" OS configuration would automatically have my
builds run in Visual Studio 2015. But, not so. Take a look at my
appveyor.yml at https://github.com/briansmith/ring
to see how I got it working.

briantag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/375370652015-08-01T19:40:19Z2015-08-01T19:40:19Zswitch to Free (VS 2015)

Thanks a lot!
Now it works as expected.

Vladimir Gamaliantag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/375370652015-08-04T15:11:20Z2015-08-04T15:11:21Zswitch to Free (VS 2015)

Please, can you move me to the Free (2015) plan too?
Also, what should I configure to build DNX projects properly (that
was recently migrated from classic C# class library projects)? I
think I didn't get the following:
1) how the build number should be used with DNX projects? As soon
as dnu packs the nuget packages instead of standard NuGet, I don't
know how build number can be applied to this process.
2) is it enough to set the PATH env. variable and use "Visual
Studio 14" in solution file to invoke MSBuild 14.0?
Thanks.

Stanislav Makarovtag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/375370652015-08-04T16:41:34Z2015-08-04T16:41:34Zswitch to Free (VS 2015)

Stanislav,

your account has been moved.

1) where is version number stored: project.json? I think you
should somehow inject version number into project.json (PowerShell
with regex?).

2) yes, that should be enough.

Feodor Fitsnertag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/375370652015-08-04T17:21:52Z2015-08-04T17:21:54Zswitch to Free (VS 2015)

Perfect, thanks!

1) yes, the "version" attribute in project.json. Also, at this
moment I have no clue about star notation in that attribute, and
how it can be used in conjunction with build number (in aspnet wiki
I've seen something like "version" : "0.1-alpha-*"). Anyway, I'll
drop you a line if find an acceptable approach.
2) good, I will try my builds again.

Thanks,
Stan.

Stanislav Makarovtag:help.appveyor.com,2012-11-13:Comment/375370652015-08-04T17:30:19Z2015-08-04T17:30:19Zswitch to Free (VS 2015)

Sure, let me know about results. ASP.NET 5 is all new stuff.
