Retention of artifacts deployed only to AppVeyor, and of build logs

Hi Feodor

I'm playing with deployment of artifacts now. It worked out of the box to an Azure Blob thanks to the excellent documentation. I also noticed that the deployed artifacts are listed in the "artifacts" section of a build, e.g., https://ci.appveyor.com/project/krlmlr/r-appveyor/build/1.0.160/art... . This is very handy, and I think I can use it in a simple deployment scenario where build logs and artifacts can be just downloaded from the AppVeyor website.

How long are those artifacts (and also the build logs) available on AppVeyor? Earlier you wrote about upcoming plans for implementing retention policies.

Thanks again for the great service.

Cheers

Kirill

    Hi Kirill,

Good question. We still have to figure out how to do artifacts management. At the moment there is no retention limits at all and any changes into this policy will be communicated to customers first.

    There are some options:
    1) Introduce different retention policies per plan.
    2) Introduce "global" retention policy for all plans, let's say keeping artifacts for 1 year.
    3) Moving "old" artifacts to some cheaper storage like AWS Glacier.
    4) something else...
