The PR at updates our cibuild to use the newest pre-installed version of postgres. This works on Linux. But on windows, our tests are no longer able to connect. See logs at

Am I doing something wrong?

Postgre 13 is not yet implemented in a build agent, so start the service during the build with:

    - net start postgresql-x64-13

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Is what you suggested a temporary workaround? I'm asking because I received an email from AppVeyor titled "Visual Studio 2019 image update on September 4, 2021", which lists "PostgreSQL 10.18, 11.13, 12.8, 13.4" in the What's New section. Because of that email, I created my PR to update versions.

PostgreSQL 13.4 is installed on VS 2019 workers, however, build agent is not yet updated to "understand" postgresql134 in services section.

An updated version of build agent has been deployed which allows starting Postgres 13 with:

    - postgresql13
