Can't add a new Kiln project
Hello,
I recently configured my Kiln repos on AppVeyor but I haven't been able to add a new project. All listed repos have a small lock next to them and when I click "Add" I receive the following message: "Projects with private repositories are not allowed on this plan." I'm on the Free plan so it could seem normal but my issue is that the first repo in the list has a 'public read-only access enabled" state so I would expect not to see a lock next to it. Am I missing something ? Why is there a lock next to my public repo ?
Best regards,
David

How do you enable public access for Kiln repo?

OK, found it. It's entire project can be made public.
Will take a look if Kiln API provides public/private property. For now AppVeyor "assumes" all Kiln repos are private.

Update. It seems Kiln API currently does not provide public/private flag for projects/repos (I know it's hard to believe). I contacted Kiln support team for the help with that.
While we are awaiting response from Kiln I can offer you two options:
1) Tell me the name of that public project in AppVeyor and I'll change its visibility in the database.
2) Move it to GitHub :)
Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the fast answer, let me know when the Kiln team answers you. In the meantime, the project I would like to enable is "ImagingInterface/GUI/ImagingInterface".
I'm not switching to GitHub, good try ! :)

OK, add that project in AppVeyor and let me know when done - I will change its record.

This is the excerpt what I've got from Kiln support:
So, what's the project name?

Ok, thanks for the info. I just had an idea for a workaround for this issue. Since my Kiln project is public, you shouldn't even need to use an access token to access it. Could you use this to determine if a project/repo is public or private ?
My project's name is "ImagingInterface" and the full repo path is: https://rold2007.kilnhg.com/Code/ImagingInterface/GUI/ImagingInterface

OK, you should add this project into AppVeyor first and I will change its status.

This project is already added in AppVeyor !

It's listed, not added ;) click Add button.

But I can't click the Add button, the project has a lock next to it because of the public/private problem with Kiln. This is why I logged this issue in the first place.

Wait, you should be able to add it, but it won't build.

Lock means "private".

This is the whole point of the initial issue. I can't add the project because it is tagged as private event though the project is public on Kiln.
For the sake of moving forward I just applied your suggestion #2 (http://help.appveyor.com/discussions/problems/403-cant-add-a-new-ki...) and cloned my project on BitBucket to be able to add the project. It works fine (except I have build errors to look at) but I would prefer to use Kiln directly instead of maintaining two online clones.

Oh, my bad. Indeed, on free plan adding of private repositories is not allowed, sorry for the confusion. I think moving the project to BitBucket or GitHub is the way to go as reply from Kiln support probably means "won't fix".
