Struggling with massive slowdowns
Well, the performance has become unacceptable for our build. We'll try upgrading to Premium and see if we can justify the cost.

I'm afraid Premium won't give you performance increase - it's basically Pro with 2 jobs.
What does take the most in your builds? Where is the bottleneck?

I'm not skilled enough to really know. It seems to degrade with time, and
get really slow towards the end, when we're running 200 tests.
I guess we're going to have to put together our own build server...

Could it be something "eating" worker memory (or CPU)? Have you tried looking into VM via RDP: http://www.appveyor.com/docs/how-to/rdp-to-build-worker ?

we'll look into that, but I'm not sure we're sophisticated enough to
analyze memory and cpu use over the course of a build. Can you point us to
any resources describing that process?

You can see that from regular Windows Task manager.
